Yesterday was just one of those it-doesn't-get-much-better-than-this sort of days.
(As opposed to the kind of day that includes
a washer and dryer full of Pull-Up goo and escapee poop.)
It started off great with both kids sleeping in.
(I use this term loosely. 7:30 is now considered "sleeping in" at our house)
We had breakfast, then headed outside for a walk to enjoy this awesome fall weather.
We stopped by a weeping willow tree in our neighborhood to play under it's branches...

When we got home, Harper went down for her nap and Brax and I spiffed up the house.
I changed all the sheets and managed to get 6 loads of laundry done over the course of the day.
We spit cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen...
Brax helped by wiping down the placemats and putting them all back!

Then I attempted to introduce some new "fun" projects.
This lasted all of 3 minutes...

(He learned this from Jace, our 8 year old neighbor that he idolizes.)
He was "shooting" the men painting the house across the street.
Nice.
I decided that if I couldn't beat him, I'd join him,
and I covered the tube in duct tape to make it more "authentic."
After some bazooka time, I thought I'd encourage another learning activity.
I had written the upper and lower case alphabet on milk and water bottle lids.
He was supposed to work on identifying the letters...

...but he preferred to load his gun with ammunition.

He was even so kind as to let Harper touch his precious bazooka.
Briefly...

Eventually, we moved onto to puzzles.
While Brax worked on those, Harper and I did a little photo shoot (HERE)...

And then Harper amazed me by scooting for the first time!
Little did I know, that Harper was deciding at this very moment that she could move!

After loooong naps (which made the day even better for everyone),
we met our friends Abbey, Noah and Blaire, at the park to soak up more cool sunshine!
Blaire and Harper hung out on the blanket (sort of).
The boys were on the move the whole time.

And to top off our great day, we had "movie night" after bath time!
Brax chose Hero Of The Rails (a Thomas movie--blechhh.
Mike and I prefer Disney movies! Oh well, it's the QT that counts, right?)

but he was so entranced by Hero that he hardly ate any!
It was a good day... One for the books. Or the blog, in this case!

Love the pics of the kids!
OMG, that post totally cracked me up. Boys. Go figure. Everything's a weapon. (I don't mean to hijack here, but it reminds me of a story) One time, I was cutting up chicken for dinner, I glanced over my shoulder just in time to see one of my boys with a bow and arrow pointed at me.(the suction cup kind) He released it asap, before I could react. At first I was angry, b/c of the chicken juices that could've gotten all over his toy, but then I quickly saw the humor in the situation:) Gotta love 'em...
