The Year of The Moose

When my dad came to visit us in the hospital when Brax was born, he brought him a stuffed moose. Not sure why he chose this particular animal, but it was very appropriate, as we had already nicknamed Brax "Little Moose." This originated from Silly Goose, to Crazy Moose, then to Little Moose. Long story... Anyway, it was ironic that Grandpa Russ chose the most perfect first toy. Ever since then, we have taken pictures with Moose to show how much Brax has grown in relation. First they were weekly, now they are monthly... See the morph below...

1 Week... Moose was more awake than Brax was at that time.

2 Weeks... Should've taken off the mittens for the picture.

3 Weeks... Catching up to Moose in size.

4 Weeks... Brax finally notices Moose.

5 Weeks... Unfolding, finally.

6 Weeks... Cracking a smile.

7 Weeks... Much more alert.

8 Weeks... Wide awake!

9 Weeks... Finally rid of the fake tan.

I kinda thought the jaundice looked hot!

10 Weeks... Smiles!

11 Weeks... One of my favorite pics, with his spikey hair and overalls.

12 Weeks... Developing such a personality.

14 Weeks... Happy Halloween!

16 Weeks... These shorts still fit!

18 Weeks... Boomer Sooner!

5 Months... Starting to lose the baby hair I loved so much.

5 1/2 Months... Just about bald.

6 Months... Fuzzy like Moose.

6 1/2 Months... Hair starting to grow back, blond and wispy.

7 Months... Some hair to spike again!

Teaching Moose new tricks.

8 Months... Bad eczema breakout :-(

9 Months... All smiles again.

10 Months... A boy and his Moose, on the move.

11 Months... They don't sit still for long.

1 Year pics to come...

Photo Opps

We had lots of great photo opportunities this week...
Too many cute ones to pick from :)
On our way to the pool (obviously??)
"Mom, the turtle hood ornament is EMBARRASSING. Can we just go please?"
"Now we're having fun!"

Blowing bubbles.

No tan lines.

Brax has begun to clap ALL the time,
for no reason he'll just clap for himself and laugh.

This is his new face--it's a cross between "surprised" and "uh-oh!"

BRAX'S FIRST HAIRCUT!!
We took him to Shear Madness... It's a salon just for kids, and they are wonderful! Miss LaShonda finished him in under 10 minutes! He did great until she got out the trimmers--not a big fan of the buzzing around the ears. He made it through tho with only a couple tears at the end. He looks like such a big boy now!
Look how long the top was!
The firetruck was a great distraction!
All done! He did not feel like smiling for an after picture.
"Gimme the prize you promised me, woman!"
So handsome!

We recently had our house repainted... here are the before and afters.
This was taken last summer.

Here's the finished product!

Brax was helping water the flowers, but then got sidetracked (and very excited)
when his neighbor Jace came by to say hi! He LOVES big kids.

A bouquet of flowers for mommy, Grammy helped him pick them!

Watching the neighbor kids on their slip and slide.
