Cousins--Then and Now

I came across these pics from a visit to OK back in March of '08...
Joel would have been almost 3, and Brax was 8 months old.

And now...
What a difference!

I love how much fun they have together!

7-8 Month Comparisons

I don't think I have to tell you who's who anymore!
They look nothing alike!

Every time I do these posts I just can't believe that Brax isn't a baby any more.
Harper will be 3 before I know it. *Sniff*

6 Month Not-So-Comparison

On these "comparison" posts I always try to find pics of the kids doing similar things.
However, at 6 months old, Brax and Harper are just SOOOOO different!
So I will just share some pics of Brax at 6 months because it's fun to look back on (and since I don't think we have a shortage of Harper photo posts as of late!)

Like I said in my latest "STAT" post, Brax was very active.
At 6 months old, he was 2 inches longer than Miss Harper, and apparently much stronger!
He was sitting up, standing up, and getting up on all fours. Our sweet girl is still quite content just being a snuggle bug most of the time. He ate a TON (a couple jars of baby food a day, and was still waking to eat in the middle of the night once or twice!) and she prefers just her milk, in smaller quanities (and sleeps all nite without eating!). He was about 1/2 lb. heavier.

I actually asked the doctor if she was developing okay, since Brax is all I've known, and our pediatrician assured me that she was totally normal. I was worried (and feeling horrible mommy-guilt) that we were neglecting her or something, that she wasn't getting enough stimulation and attention like Brax did, being the first child. No matter how hard you try, you can't do everything exactly the same with every child. And no matter what you do, they are going to have different personalities and develop differently (especially boys and girls). So really, there is no "comparison."

Anyway, you can reminisce with me... Brax as a 6 month old.

5 Month Comparison

It's hard to remember Brax at such a young age... he is such a BIG boy now.
I have learned to truly cherish these moments while Harper is tiny!

4 Month Comparison

Thank goodness Harper is keeping more of her hair than Brax did at this age!

2 1/2 Month Comparison

It is amazing how strikingly different siblings can be. Even my pregnancies with each of my kids were polar opposites (Brax-a breeze, Harper-made me not ever want to be prego again!) and I'm learning more and more about how even tho they have the same parents, Brax and Harper are nothing alike! Brax was always (and still is) extremely animated and easy to amuse. He was a very busy, antsy baby, and is full of energy. Harper, on the other hand, is very content, quiet and laid back-she loves to just sit and snuggle. And the girl makes me do cartwheels and stand on my head for the smiles you see in pictures-she is not as easily impressed with my photography antics as Brax was! She usually looks very serious in her shots, giving me a look that says, "Mom, you are SUCH a dork," where he was usually grinning from ear to ear with his mouth wide open.

Here are several photos of each of them around 10 weeks old.
Harper has so much more hair than he did, and I always thought he had alot!
Each pic of Harper is followed by one of Brax. I just love going back thru his baby pics... I can't believe he's such a big boy already!

2 Month Comparison

You know I love looking back at Brax's old pics...
Here is his 2 month photo with his moose.

At 2 months, Brax was 23 inches long and 11 lbs, 8 oz.

At 2 months, Harper is 22 inches, and 11 lbs even.
I was surprised, because I feel like she is so much bigger than he was!
He was always a string bean, without a roll to be found,
whereas Miss Harper has some meat on her bones!

5 Week Comparison

Here are Brax and Harper at 5 weeks.
I love looking back at his baby pics at the same age she is now!
I didn't realize just how much hair Harper has!!!
